Dear Mr. Kingsley:
We have received the enclosed Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) correspondence received May 14, 1998, transmitting the FEMA evaluation report for the August 20, 1997 Emergency Preparedness Exercise at the Dresden Nuclear Generating Station.
No deficiencies were identified during the exercise. However, four Areas Requiring Corrective Action (ARCA), and one planning issue were Identified.
We fully recognize that any corrective actions to be implemented may involve parties and political institutions which are not under your direct control. Nonetheless, we expect that assistance, if appropriate, will be extended.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the Commission's regulations, a copy of this letter and the enclosed FEMA correspondence will be placed in the NRC Public Document Room.
