SUBJECT:
NRC INSPECTION REPORT 50-237/98010(DRS); 50-249/98010(DRS)
On March 12, 1998, the NRC completed a follow-up inspection of your implementation of
10 CFR 50.65, "Requirements for Monitoring the Effectiveness of Maintenance at Nuclear
Power Plants," (the maintenance rule) at the Dresden Nuclear Generating Station. The
enclosed report presents the results of that inspection.
No violations of NRC requirements were identified. We concluded that actions your staff
carried out properly addressed all open items from our Maintenance Rule Baseline Inspection,
and that the Dresden maintenance rule program continued to meet all requirements. We noted
that since the May 1997 baseline inspection, the program has been extensively revised and
improved, most clearly in the performance criteria aspect.
. *1n accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the NRC's "Rules of Practice," a copy of this letter and its
enclosure will be placed in the NRC Public Document Room.
