SUBJECT:
SEMI-ANNUAL INSPECTION PLAN FOR DRESDEN
Dear Mr. Joyce:
The NRC Region III office performs periodic Plant Performance Reviews (PPR) for the purposes of assessing licensee performance and developing facility inspection plans.
The purpose of this letter is to notify you of the results of the inspection planning portion of our March 1995 PPR for the Dresden Station.
The intent of this effort is to help facilitate your resource planning as it relates to our inspection activities.
In the future, we will make approximate semi-annual notifications of our inspection plans to each Region III holder of a Part 50 power reactor license.
The enclosure to this letter provides the schedule for NRC inspections of the Dresden Station which are planned for the next several months.
The plan is subject to change should circumstances dictate. These could include inspection in one technical area pointing to a need to perform inspection or followup in another area, or reactive inspections in response to events.
We will inform you of.any required changes to the schedule.
Periodic visits by the Reactor Operations Assessment Representative (ROAR), the Lead for Engineering Assessment Program (LEAP), and Reactor and Project Engineers are considered a part of* the routine resident inspection.
We are interested in feedback on this plan, and any concerns you may have about its potential impact.
If you have any questions or concerns regarding this plan, please contact me at (708) 829-9603.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the Commission's regulations, a copy of this letter will be placed in the NRC Public Document Room.
