EVALUATION OF REQUEST FOR RELIEF RELATED TO THE THIRD TEN-YEAR INTERVAL INSERVICE INSPECTION PROGRAM FOR DRESDEN NUCLEAR POWER STATION, UNITS 2 AND 3 (TAC NOS. M89315 AND M89316)
By letter dated February 24, 1994, as supplemented by letter dated April 6, 1994, you submitted Revision 3 to the third ten-year interval inservice inspection (ISi) program plan.
Revision 3 requests the staff's review and approval of Relief Request PR-14, Revision 1, PR-18 and CR-17.
The staff has reviewed the relief requests.
The staff's evaluation and conclusions are contained in the enclosed Safety Evaluation (SE).
The staff has concluded that the alternative testing proposal in Relief Request PR-18 is acceptable and relief is authorized pursuant to 10 CFR 50.55a(a)(3)(ii).
Use of Relief Request PR-18 for joints not classified as hard joints is denied.
Relief request PR-14 was previously granted by letter dated May 25, 1994.
Relief request CR-17 and specific changes in Revision 3 of the ISI program plan will be evaluated under separate cover.
