BWR CONTAINMENT ACCESS POLICY November 17,992 This is in response to your letter of October 2, 1992, which provided clarificatio~ regarding your letter of May 13, 1992.
These letters describe Commonwealth Edison Company's position on control of personnel access to containment during shutdown for those periods when frequent access is necessary.
We have reviewed your position and find it acceptable,- with one -
exception.
In your October 2, 1992 letter, Attachment A, last sentence of page one, you specify that the containment personnel access policy wou*ld also apply to Commonwealth Edison Company's PWR facilities.
It was our understanding that the access problems being addressed, which wer~ the subject of an.inspection finding, were unique to BWR facilities.
Therefore, any changes in your.access controls *to containment for your PWR facilities should be addressed separately. -
The enclosures to th~ above referenced letters.contain Safeguards Information of a type specified in 10 CFR 73.21 and are being _withhel~ from public disclosure.
