This refers to the routine safety inspection conducted by Messrs.
M. A. Kunowski and A. G. Januska of this office on June 16 - Z2, 1992.
The inspection included a review of authorized activities for your
Dresden Nuclear Power Station, Units 2 and 3.
At the conclusion of
the inspection, the findings were discussed with those members of_-
-your staff identified in the enclosed report.
Areas examined during the ~nspection are identified in the report. Within
these areas, the inspection consisted of a selective examination of procedures
and representative records, interviews with personnel, dose rate measurements,
and observation of activities in progress.
During this inspection, certain of your activities appeared to be in violation
of NRC requirements.
However, as described in the enclosed ihspection report,
you identified th~se violations. Therefore, the violations will not be
subject to enforcement action because your efforts in identifying and
correcting the violations meet the criteria specified in Section VII.B.l of :
the "General Statement of Policy and Procedures for NRC Enforcement Actions,"
(Enfqrcement Policy, 10 C~R Part 2, Appendix C (1992)).

In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the Commi~sion's regulations, a copy of
this letter and the enclosed inspection report will be placed in the NRC
Public Document Room.
