Dear*Mr. Reed:
JUL 1 6 1992 NRC Region III has received the enclosed Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) letter dated April 29, 1992, and the associated final report for the October 1991 exercise of the offsite radiological emergency response plans for the Dresden Nuclear Generating station.
The State of Illinois and the Counties of Grundy, Will, and Kendall fully participated in this exercise.
FEMA identified no deficiencies during the exercise; however, 12 Areas Requiring Corrective Actions (ARCAs) were identified.
FEMA determined that offsite radiological emergency response plans *and preparedness are adequate to provide reasonable assurance that appropriate measures can be taken offsite to protect the public's health and safety in the event of a radiological emergency at the Dresden Station.
As a result, the approval of offsite radiological emergency response plans for the Dresden Station will remain in effect, in accordance with FEMA Rule Title 44 CFR Part 350.
You are requested to interact with offsite officials to res.olve any outstanding concerns.identified by FEMA.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the Commission's regulati6ns, a copy of this letter and its enclosures will be placed in the NRC's Public Document Room.
