This refers to the routine safety inspection conducted by Mr. T. Ploski and*

others of this office on October 8-11, 1991, of activities at the Dresden

Nuclear Generating Station, Units 2 and 3, authorized by NRC Operating

Licenses No. DRP-19 and No. DRP-25.

At the conclusion of the inspection,

the findings were discussed with those members of your staff identified in

the enclosed report.

The er.close*d copy of our inspection report identi'fies areas examined during

the inspection.

Within these areas, the inspection consisted of a selective

examination of procedures and representative records, observations, and

interviews with personnel.

No violation~ of NRC requirements were identified during the course of this

inspection.

However, one exercise weakness was identified which will requite

corrective action per the requirement of 10 CFR 50, Appendix E,

Paragraph IV.F.5.

The weakness is summarized in the Appendix to this letter

and is described in greater detail in the enclosed report.

Jn accordance \\'J"ith 10 CFR 2.790 of the Commission's regulations, a copy of

. this letter and the enclosed inspection report will be placed in the NRC

Public Document Room .

Exercise Weakness

Emergency Action Levels, in response to onsite conditions postulated by the

exercise scenario.
