Mr. Cordell Reed Senior Vice President Opus West III 1400 Opus Place Downers Grove, Illinois 60515 Dear Mr. Reed; JUN 11 1991 This will acknowledge receipt of your letter dated May 17, 1991 and your check for $100,000 in payment for the civil penalty proposed by NRC in a letter dated April 17, 1991.
Based on discussions between Mr. T. J. Kovach of your staff and Ms. Patricia Lougheed of the NRC staff, we understand that the third method described in item four of your "corrective steps taken to avoid further violations" should be modified to read as follows:
"The drywell will be pressurized to 48 psig and the inboard flange snoop tested to verify zero leakage."
Your corrective actions wi 11 be examined during future inspections.
