SUMMARY

OF OPERATING EXPERIENCE UNIT ONE OCTOBER, 1980 10-1 to 10-31 Unit One was shutdown for the entire month, awaiting license approval for the chemical cleaning.

Major work scheduled to be completed following chemical cleaning is as follows:

HPCI installation for ECCS upgrading, equip-ment upgrade to IEEE 279, major in-service inspection, and refuel.

SUMMARY

OF OPERATING EXPERIENCE UNIT TWO 10-1 to 10-5 10-5 to 10-9 OCTOBER, 1980 Unit Tw~ started the month operating at a power level of 420 MWe.

On October, 5, at 0106, the Unit was tripped off system to place the offgas system.

back i~ service.

The Unl.t was placed back on the system at 092'2, reaching a power level of 427 MWe.

'On October 9, at 0705, an EHC pump electrical malfunction caused a turbine stop valve closure, resulting in a sub-sequent scram.

10-9 to 10-12 The reactor was brought critical at 1305 on October 9, but the subsequent inopera-bility of the HPCI system required the reac.tor to be shutdown at 1420 on October

11.
  • The reactor was again brought criti-cal.at 0510 on October 12.

10-12 to 10-31 The Unit was placed back on the system at 1836 on October 12 and continued oper-ati,ng through the remainder of the month, r~aching a power levrl of 382 MWe, with a capacity {actor ~nd availability of 44%

and 88%, respectively.

SUMMARY

OF OPERATIN~ EXPERIENCE UNIT THREE OCTOBER, 1980 10-1 to 10-24 Unit Three started the month operating at a power level of 762 MWe.

On October 24, at 1647, the Unit scrammed on high flux due to the essential service M.G. set tripping and APRM's going upscale.

10-25 to 10-31 The 1reactor was brought critical at 0130 on October 25 and placed back on the*system at 0734.

The Unit operated thrqugh the remainder of the month, reaching a power level of 780 MWe, with a capacity factor and availability of 90%.and 98%, respectively.
