LOFI' TESf PREDICTION November 9, 1979 OG-23 We would like to confinn recent conversations with members of your staff updating the date of submittal of the LOFf 13-1 test prediction.
We currently would expect to complete the prediction and submit the results on December 15, 1979.
There are several reasons for the delay:
- 1.
Input data that was required was provided later than had been expected.
Orifice calibration data were.received only this week.
- 2. Difficulties have been encotmtered in getting the code input deck to rtm successfully since the problem is non-standard.
- 3.
Efforts resulting from recent NRC requests for infonnation have been utilizing the same resources that are involved in the LOFf test prediction.
- 4.
In the rush to provide early results, errors could be made since little time would be available for the kind of verification of results that would nonnally be perfonned. This difficulty was clearly evident in the Semiscale small break test prediction wherein, after review and evaluation, some input errors were discovered and the calculations had to be re-done.
We will continue our efforts to expedite completion of the test prediction.
