References (a), (b) and (c) requested commonwealth Edison company to review manual bypass override circuitry and to provide the NRC Staff with a commitment to cease all containment purge during operation or to provide a justification. for continuing purging at the Dresden, Quad-Cities and __ Zion Stations.
Reference (d) contained Commonwealth. Edison's responses to the requests.
-- As part of its review, the NRC Staff, requested* a meeting on June 28,.1979 with Commonwealth Edison personnel to discuss and clarify*the responses submitted in Reference {d).

NRC Docket Nos. 50-10/237/249, 50-254/265, 50-295/304 July 2, 1979 in Reference (d) concerning containment purging during normal operation to more fully address on an item by item basis the requests of the NRC Staff contained in References (a), (b) and (c) for unlimited purging at Dresden, Quad-Cities and. Zion Stations.
commonwealth Edison will provide*the NRC Staff with a schedule for*
responding to the various issues associated with purging during normal operation by August. 1, 1979.
Pending this schedule, revised response and NRC Staff review, Commonwealth Edisori eommits to the following:
- 1)
For Zion Station a)
Purging will be* limited to an absolute minimum, not to exceed 90 hours0.00104 days <br />0.025 hours <br />1.488095e-4 weeks <br />3.4245e-5 months <br /> per year per unit.
b)
Venting will be restricted to only those operations required to comply with the Zion Station Technical Specifications thatlimit containment pressure.
c)
Appropriate analyses and, if possible,. a test of a large purge valve closure capability will be performed as soon as practicable.
d)
Analyses of vent valves will be performed as soon as possible with testing, if possib'le, of vent valve closure capability during the Zion Unit 1 leak rate tests in the fall 1979 outage.

For Dresden and Quad-cities Stations a)
Purging and venting will be strictly limited only to those operations necessary to inert the contain-ment, de-inert the containment, control containment pressure, reduce containment oxygen concentration, and to establish and maintain a pressure differential between the drywell and suppression chamber.
b)
Analyses and, if possible, a test of a large purge valve closure capability will be performed as soon as practicable *

Analyses of vent valves will be performed as soon as possible with testing, if possible, of vent valve closure capability during the Quad-Cities leak rate test in the fall 1979 outage.
