SUBJECT:
SUSQUEHANNA STEAM ELECTRIC STATION REVISION NO.
7 TO THE FIRE PROTECTION REVIEW REPORT
Dear Hr. Byram:
The staff has received copies of the above noted report dated February 23,
- 1995, and has determined that the nature of the changes do not require staff approval.
Therefore, headquarters staff will not need to review the do:ument.
However, the regional inspection effort may review the implementation of the program during future fire protection inspections.
It should be noted that PP5L has not yet adopted the standard license condition for Susquehanna Steam Electric Station (SSES) as recommended in Generic Letter 86-10, "Implementation of Fire Protection Requirements,"
and has not removed the fire protection Technical Specifications and incorporated them into the Final Safety Analysis Report as per the guidance provided in GL 88-12, "Removal of Fire Protection Requirements from Technical Specifications."
Your staff has indicated, however, that it plans to submit a
proposed amendment which would remove the fire protection related items from the SSES TS and would incorporate the applicable standard license condition in the near future.
The staff anticipates receipt of this submittal.
