AND 2 (TAC NOS.,H96641 AND M96642)
Dear Hr. Byram:
In letters dated September 12 and 27,
- 1996, Pennsylvania Power and Light Company (PP&L) provided tothe Commission information about a change made under 10 CFR 50.'59 to increase the secondary, containment bypass leakage rate from 5 scfh to 9, scfh for Susquehanna St'earn Electric Station, Units 1 and 2.
I have provided copies of these documents to members of the technical staff for their review.

We have reviewed your submittals'nd have identified a need to conduct an independent evaluation of, the radiological cons'equences of this proposed increase in leakage.-
To support this effort, I am requesting that you provide a copy of the revised design basis loss'-of-coolant-accident radiological calculation that was performed by PP&L to assess the impact of the increase in bypass leakage at the plants.'lease provi'de the analysis within 3 weeks of receipt of this letter.
