This letter refers to the NRC's safety issues
program inspection of your
Access Authorization Program conducted
by Hr.
G.
C. Smith of this office at
the Susquehanna
Steam Electric Station
on June
10-14,
1996.
Areas
examined
during the inspection
are identified in the enclosed report.
The inspection
consisted of interviews
and examination of selected
procedures
and
representative
records.
Our findings were discussed
with Hr.
G. Kuczynski
and
other members of your staff by Hr. Smith at the conclusion of the inspection.
The inspector determined that you had
an effective program in place that
provided high assurance
that individuals granted
unescorted
access
were
trustworthy and reliable,
and did not constitute
an unreasonable
risk to the
health
and safety to the public, including
a potential to commit radiological
sabotage,
No safety concerns
or violations of regulatory requirements
were identified.
