a resident safety inspection
conducted
by Hs.
M.
Banerjee,
Hr. D. J. Hannai,
and others
from February
14,
1995 through March
27,
1995, at the Susquehanna
Steam Electric Station
(SSES),
Salem Township,
Areas relevant to the health
and safety of the public examined
during the inspection
are described
in the enclosed report.
At the conclusion
of the inspection,
Ms M. Banerjee,
Senior Resident
Inspector,
summarized
the
inspection findings with Hr. H.
G. Stanley
and other
members of your staff.
The station
was operated
in a safe manner.
Our inspectors
noted strong
management
involvement
and oversight of your first 45 day Unit
1 refueling
outage preparation,
and concluded that you were implementing
an improved
program for outage
management.
In accordance
with 10 CFR 2.790 of the NRC's "Rules of Practice,"
a copy of
this letter and its enclosures will be placed in the
NRC Public Document
Room.
