COMBINED INSPECTION REPORT NOS. 50-387/94-03 AND 50-388/94-03
This letter refers to the announced
inspection conducted by Mr. Peter Drysdale of this office
from January
10-14, 1994, and February 1-4, 1994, at the Susquehanna
Steam Electric
Station.
The preliminary results of this inspection were discussed with Mr. G. Stanley and
others of your staff at the conclusion of the inspection on February 10, 1994.
This inspection was focused towards issues important to public health and safety, specifically
nuclear engineering programs, modification controls, and engineering deficiency reports.
We
found that your engineering programs function effectively, and that good management
support and direct involvement fostered good communications within the various engineering
groups.
~ In addition, we found effective QA audits of engineering programs, an improved
engineering deficiency report process,
and good technical quality for plant design changes.
No reply to this letter is necessary.
