routine radwaste/transportation
inspection was conducted at the
Susquehanna
Steam Electric Station (SSES) on October 28-31, 1991.
The inspection findings
were discussed with your staff at. an exit meeting on October 31, 1991.

Organization Effectiveness Review has resulted in a more focused and streamlined
radwaste/transportation
group.
In general, you have a strong solid radwaste/transportation
program at Susquehanna.
The Low Level Radioactive Waste Handling Facility (LLRWHF)
is not yet prepared for on site radwaste storage, however a LLRWHF.team. has been formed
to initiate the required facility modifications before January
1993.
Appropriate progress
is
being made in this area.
Within the scope of this inspection, no violations were identified.
One unresolved item was
identified relative to contaminated oil processing
release criteria which is undergoing NRC
evaluation.
No response
