AND 2 (TAC NOS'.

74071 AND f4072)

By letters dated February 23, 1990 and April 27, 1990, Pennsylvania Power and Light Company (PPIIL) responded to the subject generic letter for the Susquehanna Steam Electric Station, Units 1 and 2.

Your response indicated that activities to address the issues discussed in the generic letter either have been performed or will be implemented in accordance with the schedule included in your supplemental responses dated December 14, 1990, June 4, 1991 and September 9, 1991.

Since a detailed technical review of your response to the issues covered by GL 89-13 has not been performed, approval of your service water system program is neither intended nor implied; however, your confirmation does provide an adequate basis to consider the staff's review of your response to the GL complete.

Within 30 days following the completion of the scheduled

actions, you are requested to confirm their implementation to the NRC in writing.

This requirement affects fewer than 10 respondents and therefore, is not subject to Office of Management and-Budget review under P.L.96-511.
