EMERGENCY TELECOMMUNICATIONS SYSTEMS SITE SURVEY AT SUS(UEHANNA STEAIi ELECTRIC STATION, UNITS 1
AND 2 The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) is currently evaluating an upgrade of the Emergency Telecommunications System (ETS) utilized by all NRC licensed nuclear power plants, the five NRC Incident Response
- Centers, the NRC Operations
- Center, and the NRC Technical Training Center.
As part of this evaluation, the NRC has contracted with I-NET, Incorporated
( I-NET) to perform a site survey at your location.
The survey will consist primarily of discussions between the I-NET survey team and your telecommunications and emergency preparedness representatives regarding the site's communications capabilities and the feasibility of upgrading your ETS.
Additionally, the I-NET survey team would like to visit the site communications room(s), control room, technical support center, NRC resident inspector's office, and, if appropriate, the emergency operations facility.
The I-NET survey team will require approximately three to four hours onsite.
Ns. Annette Sourmany, a representative from I-NET, will be contacting your emergency preparedness coordinator to schedule the visit at a mutually agreed upon date and time within the September through October 1991 time frame.
