SUMMARY

OF JULY 13, 1982 MEETING ON HORIZONTAL DYNAMIC ANALYSIS FOR SUSQUEHANNA, UNIT 1 On July 13, 1982, 'representatives of PP&L and Bechtel met with the NRC staff to discuss revisions to the horizontal dynamic analysis.

A list of attendees is provided in Enclosure l.

PP&L stated that errors in the horizontal model were noted as a result of the engineering turnover process between PP&L and Bechtel.

Error s were character ized as calculation errors and incorrect interpretation errors.

Recalculation and PP&L recheck was performed on the reactor building and control structure.

The North-South model was generally bounded with negligible increases/decreases when compared to the original design bases.

In the East-West model, changes occurred at elevation 719 and below.

Spring stiffnesses for springs 1 through 17 increased by 40%, except spring 15 which increased by 17%.

An assessment was then presented with the revised spectra and an evaluation that no system or equipment changes are needed.

As a check that other Category I structures do not experience the same errors found in the reactor/control

building, PP&l committed to provide documentation on rechecks of the other Category I structures by the following dates:
