In accordance with present NRC procedures regarding Board Notifications, the enclosed material is provided to the Commission for information.

This material's relevant to the concerns recently raised by Mr. John Humphrey, a former employee of the General Electric Company, regarding the adequacy of the BNR pressure suppression containment systems.

Itr. Humphrey's issues were specifically directed at the Mark III containment design based on his experience with the STRIDE plants.

Since several of these issues may be considered

generic, we have examined their applicability to all Mark II and Mark III designs.

Several documents relative to this issue are enclosed.

This material is applicable to the Susquehanna Steam Electric Station which is presently before the Commission and may be somewhat applicable to all Mark II and Mark III facilities, including La Salle and Grand Gulf.
