Dear Senator Schweiker:

This is in,response to your letter dated August 16, 1979, which enclosed a

letter to you from David Mann of the Susquehanna Alliance and a copy of his August 7, 1979 letter to Daniel huller of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission.

He have no record that the lattev was received at NRC from fir. Harm.

(

Attached is a copy of our response to another letter dated August 1?,

1979 from fir. Harm to NRC which reiterated his request for 'a substantial extension of the public comment period on our Dvaft Environmental Statement relative to operation of'he Susquehanna Steam Electric Station.

As indicated in the re-

sponse, we have extended the corrment period an additional 15 days in accord-ance with-our regulations.
However, we do not believe that a 120-day exten-sion, until aftev the report of the President's Commission on the accident at Three Mile Island is available, is warranted sirfce the staff expects to con-sider any pertinent recommendations by th'e President's Commission in our en-vironmental review.
