Entergy / Pilgrim Event Number 52655 Mr. Gurdziel, Im responding to your April 3 email on Pilgrim Event Number (EN) 52655, Pressure Suppression Pool Declared Inoperable Due To Torus High Water Level. Specifically, you stated that the cause was not evident. Thank you for your inquiry regarding the event. We appreciate your concerns.

In accordance with the inspection program, NRC inspectors are reviewing the causes of the March 31, 2017 event and the adequacy of the corrective actions. The review will also consider the impact of the water transfer on the Pressure Suppression Pool (torus) and the adequacy of procedures and operator actions.

The results of our inspection, including any findings or violations identified during the review, will be documented in an upcoming inspection report. NRC inspection reports for Pilgrim are posted on the NRC webpage at https://www.nrc.gov/reactors/operating/oversight/listofrpts-body.html#pilg.
