The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) has completed the enclosed NUREG-2209, Environmental Impact Statement for the Construction Permit for the Northwest Medical Isotopes Radioisotope Production Facility, Final Report (final EIS) in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act of 1969, as amended. With this letter, I am forwarding you a copy of the final EIS.
On November 4, 2016, the NRC provided your tribe with a copy of the draft EIS. As described in the draft EIS, the NRC considered potential impacts to historic, archeological and cultural properties from the construction, operation, and decommissioning of the proposed facility.
Under the provisions of the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966, the NRC staff determined that no historic properties would be affected by this undertaking. In preparing the final EIS, the NRC staff did not identify any new information that would change these findings.
