[External_Sender] RE: Braidwood Station Response to question about FLEX equipment maintenance and testing.

John - The following response is provided by Braidwood.

Question:

Is Braidwood using the EPRI report regarding FLEX maintenance and testing?

Response

The Preventative Maintenance (PM) and Testing Program for FLEX equipment was developed using existing procedures and processes ER-AA-200, Preventative Maintenance Program, and WC-AA-120, Preventative Maintenance PM Database Revision Requirements. The program satisfies NEI 12-06 Section 11.5 by utilizing the following sources for maintenance and testing requirements:

A. Original Equipment Manufacturers Recommendations B. Exelon Corporate PM Templates which were developed using INPO AP- 913 process and Electric Power Research Institute Report 3002000623 entitled Nuclear Maintenance Applications Center: Preventive Maintenance Basis for FLEX Equipment.

C. Operating Experience D. Material Aging and Shelf Life (including consumables and fluids)

These requirements were applied to equipment which "directly performs FLEX mitigation strategy for core cooling, containment or spent fuel cooling" (NEI 12-06, Section 11.5).

Any revisions to the scope or frequency of preventive maintenance or testing of FLEX equipment will be evaluated and authorized in accordance with ER-AA-200 and WC-AA-120.

Please us know if any additional information is needed.

Thanks.
