CONTROL NUMBER(S) of 07/28/2016 Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality Impingement Studies to Support the Environmental Review for the Waterford 3 License Renewal Application On July 28, 2016, Michelle Moser, Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) Biologist, contacted Bruce Fielding, Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality (LDEQ). Ms. Moser explained that the NRC is reviewing Entergy's application to renew the operating license for Waterford 3. As part of that review, Entergy submitted an Environmental Report to the NRC, which includes an analysis of the potential impacts to aquatic resources from impingement. Entergy estimated impingement at Waterford 3 by extrapolating field data collected at Waterford 1 and 2. Mr. Fielding stated that this was an acceptable approach because one would expect similar habitat and species at both sites.
