In accordance with NRC procedures for Boar'd Notifications the following two reports are provided for your informat'ion:
1.
"UtilityAdvisors Evaluation Team Report on Diablo Canyon Shift Advisor Program - April 4, 5
& 6, 1984", transmittal letter of April 11, 1984 from E. L. Thomas (Duke Power Company) to H. Thompson (NRC).
2.
"Evaluation of Shift Advisors, Diablo Canyon Power Plant" NRC staff report, memorandum of April 19, 1984 from L. Crocker.to H; Thompson.
The reports address the qualifications of individuals selected by PG&E to provide advice to'he operating shifts and the adequacy, of the traininq program provided by PG8E to assure that these individuals are properly knowledgeable about the Diablo Canyon Plant.
Both reports concluded that the shift advisors are properly qualified.
The subject of shift advisors was discussed in Supplements 10 and 12 to the Diablo Canyon SER and was of specific interest to the Commission during the recent considerations of a low-power license.
Shift advisor qualification was not an issue at the Diablo Canyon hearings.
