Request for Extension of Public Comment Period on Draft Regulatory Guide DG-4026, "Preparation

Dear Ms. Bladey:

On February 13, 2017, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) published a notice soliciting comments on Draft Regulatory Guide DG-4026, "Preparation of Environmental Reports for Nuclear Power Stations", an update to Regulatory Guide 4.2, Revision 2. Comments are due to the NRC by April 14, 2017.

On behalf of the nuclear industry, the Nuclear Energy Institute (NEI) 1 requests an extension to the public comment period until May 31, 2017.

The additional time is needed in order to perform a comprehensive review ,of the information in the draft regulatory guide, attend a public meeting, which NRC staff has indicated that they will conduct on the revisions, and consolidate industry comments. In support of managing our comment activities, we respectfully request a response to this extension request by March 17, 2017.
