[External_Sender] RE: Completion of NYSERDA"s West Valley Soil Sampling and Dose Assessment Project Date: Thursday, July 28, 2016 4:19:06 PM Importance: High Hi Amy, In August, NYSERDA will be submitting to the NRC all of the surveys and analytical data for Areas 1-

3. As discussed earlier this week, NYSERDA is working on properly identifying and modeling the culturally-specific land use information for the Seneca Nation of Indians, so the data, surveys and dose assessment information for Areas 4 and 5 will not be available for the August 2016 submittal.

As NYSERDA and NRC have discussed, NYSERDA also collected additional samples at the request of the Seneca Nation of Indians. These additional samples are outside of the scope of the original report and the data from these additional sample locations, along with any dose assessments, if applicable, will be included in a separate appendix to the report. NYSERDA will provide the data, surveys and dose assessment information for Areas 4 and 5, and the additional sample locations to the NRC in a revised version of the report upon completion of these activities. We anticipate completion of this second transmittal in the Fall of 2016.

In the interim, NYSERDA has provided all of the additionally requested sample data to the Seneca Nation of Indians for their review and discussion.

Please contact me with any questions.

Hi Andrea, Will all the data that NYSERDA collected on the Seneca Nation (including the additional samples of specific media or areas that was specially requested by the Seneca Nation) be included in the report that is submitted to the NRC?

[External_Sender] Completion of NYSERDA's West Valley Soil Sampling and Dose Assessment Project Importance: High Good Morning, NYSERDA and the Seneca Nation have been working together over the last few weeks in regard to properly capturing traditional land uses that will be included in the dose assessment for Areas 4 and 5 on the Cattaraugus Territory. Because of the Seneca Nations close connection and relationship with the land, NYSERDA and the Seneca Nation have agreed to continue to work together over the next few weeks to develop specific and detailed land use scenarios that will be used in the Area 4 and 5 dose assessment. We plan to proceed with the dose assessments for Areas 1, 2, and 3 and will present that information at the August 24 Quarterly Public Meeting. The dose assessment information on Areas 4 and 5 will be presented at a future Quarterly Public Meeting after we have had the opportunity to work with the Seneca Nation to accurately represent the manner in which the Seneca Nation uses the land now and may use it in the future.

In regard to the written report, we plan to issue the report in mid-August with the soil sampling data and the dose assessment results for Areas 1, 2, and 3. For Areas 4 and 5 on the Cattaraugus Territory, the report will present the soil sampling data, but wont include information on the Seneca Nation land use or dose assessment. We will add an explanation as to why the Seneca Nation land use and dose assessment information isnt in that version of the report. We will issue a revised version of the report once we have completed the Seneca Nation dose assessment. This will allow us to provide the dose assessment information to the property owners in Areas 1, 2, and 3 once it is

completed.
