MN No.17-001 U.S. NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION REGION I NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING January 19, 2017 Licensee: Entergy Nuclear Operations, Inc.

Facility: Pilgrim Nuclear Power Station Docket No: 50-293 Date/Time: Tuesday, January 31, 2017 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Doors to the meeting room will open to the public at 5:30 p.m.

Location: Hotel 1620 at Plymouth Harbor Grand Ballroom 180 Water Street Plymouth, MA 02360

Purpose:

The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff will meet with the public to discuss the NRCs preliminary findings and status of the 95003 inspection at Pilgrim Nuclear Power Station. Members of the public will have the opportunity to pose questions and comments to the NRC. The agenda is attached.

NRC Attendees: William Dean, Director, Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation Daniel Dorman, Regional Administrator, Region I Raymond Lorson, Director, Division of Reactor Safety Donald Jackson, Chief, Operations Branch, Division of Reactor Safety Public Participation: This is a Category 3 Meeting. The public is invited to participate in this meeting by providing comments and asking questions throughout the meeting.

Members of the public and media may enter the Grand Ballroom beginning at 5:30 p.m. Prior to 5:30 p.m., entrance to the Grand Ballroom will be limited to NRC staff and contractors.

The NRC will conduct the meeting in an orderly fashion and will maintain an environment that encourages respectful discussion. Threatening language will not be tolerated, and will be cause for removal from the meeting by local law enforcement. In addition, individuals who repeatedly disrupt the meeting will be removed by local law enforcement. The meeting will be facilitated by Brett Klukan, Regional Counsel for NRC Region I.

2 Members of the public who wish to speak during the meeting will be required to sign up, beginning at 5:30 p.m., prior to entering the Grand Ballroom. The order of public speakers will be determined by random selection, so there is no need line up prior to 5:30 p.m. to reserve a place in the speaking order.

NRC security and local law enforcement representatives will conduct searches of personal items (briefcases, purses, backpacks, equipment cases, etc.) outside the entrance to the Grand Ballroom. No weapons of any kind are permitted in the meeting room. Any props should be fairly lightweight (i.e., would not injure a person if thrown or swung with force) and should not contain any metal fixtures or sharp edges.

Signs, banners, posters, and displays not larger than 18 x 18 are permitted in the meeting room. In the interest of public safety, signs affixed to any sticks, poles, or other similar devices are strictly prohibited.

No tables or displays will be permitted inside the Grand Ballroom.
