.The licensee gave prepared presentations in the areas of Radiation Protection and Emergency Preparedness.
RADIATION PROTECTION The Radiation Protection Manager provided a discussion of the licensee's
'ccomplishments in the areas of: external radiation exposure control, personnel contamination incident rates, radioactive waste
- volumes, ALARA and radiation worker practices.
The licensee success in reducing total personnel exposure during 1989 and 1990 was the result of their Hiqh Impact Team (HIT) implementation and good worker input.
The license'e has implemented a program of positive incentives for employees to achieve their ALARA and other plant specific goals.
While describing their success, the Radiation Protection Manager also pointed out areas where their program could be improved.
In
. particular, they believe the number of personnel contaminations need to be reduced and more attention paid to specific work practices.
