The Commission met to discuss a full power operating license for Diablo Canyon Unit 2.
The Commission heard statements from the Government Account-ability Project (GAP) read by Nina Bell of the Nuclear Informa-tion and Resource Service and from George A.. Maneatis, Executive Vice President for Pacific Gas and Electric Company.
The Commission voted 4-1 (with Commissioner Asselstine dis-agreeing) to authorize the staff to issue a full power license for Diablo Canyon Unit 2.
The Commission also considered requests by joint intervenors for a stay of the effectiveness of any authorization by the Commission of the issuance of a full power license for Diablo Canyon Unit 2 and to take review of ALAB-811 (ref:
The Commission voted 4-1 (with Commissioner Asselstine dis-agreeing) to deny both the stay and review requests (this completes action on SECY-85-263).
(Subsequently, the Secretary signed an order to that effect.)
