Quay, Director Project Directorate V Division of Reactor Projects III/IV/V Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation NEW INFORMATION POTENTIALLY RELEVANT AND MATERIAL TO THE LICENSING BOARD PROCEEDINGS IN THE HATTER OF PACIFIC GAS AND ELECTRIC COMPANY (DIABLO CANYON POMER PLANT UNITS 1 AND 2) In conformance with the Commission's policy on notification of the Licensing Board on new, relevant, and material information, this memorandum calls attention to the information presented below. On April 8, 1993, the NRC issued the enclosed Inspection Report Nos. 50-275/93-03 and 50-323/93-03 for Diablo Canyon. Paragraph 4 of the enclosed inspection report discusses the failures of several electrical cables associated with components located in the intake structure. This information may be relevant to the proceeding regarding a proposed license amendment on recapturing the construction period for Diablo Canyon. Theodore R.
