In accordance with the NRC procedures for Board Notifications (BN) the following two documents are provided for information of the Atomic Safety and Licensing Board:
1.
"Meeting Summary--Structural Analysis of Spent Fuel Pool Expansion, Commonwealth Edison
- Company, Byron Station, Units 1 and 2," L. Olshan (NRC), January 12, 1987.
2.
"Rack-to-Rack Interaction Analysis," letter from S.
Varga (NRC) to J. Shiffer (PGSE), January 22, 1987.
The first document includes, as Item 4 of its Enclosure 2,
a question on the postulated rack-to-rack interactions, which is relevant and material to Sierra Club Contention II.B, as admitted by this Board in the Diablo Canyon Reracking Proceeding.
The second document is a request by the staff to the licensee to provide pertinent information related to the rack-to-rack interaction aspect for the Diablo Canyon Plant.
If, as a result of the staff review of the requested information, further analysis will be required for the Diablo Canyon spent fuel pool reracking, we will inform this Board promptly.
