ISSUANCE OF LICENSE (BOARD NOTIFICATION NO. 85-O5O, )

In accordance with NRC procedures, the following is provided for your informa-tion.

The low power license for Diablo Canyon Unit 2 was issued on April 26, 1985 as authorized by the Commission on April 23, 1985.

The unit is ready for fuel load at this time; however, in accordance with the PGINE commitment not to load fuel in Unit 2 while testing is being conducted on Unit 1, fuel load will not begin until May 1, 1985.

At that time is it expected that the testing on Unit 1 will be complete.

Unit 2 is expected to reach criticality in late June and is scheduled to exceed 5X power in early July.

By copy of this memorandum, the Appeal Board and the parties to the Diablo Canyon 2 proceeding are provided the same information.
