In accordance with NRC procedures for Board Notifications the enclosed memorandum from R. Heishman (I&E) to R. Vollmer (NRR) dated September 10, 1984 is provided for your information.
The memorandum provides the results of a review team effort on the implementation of commitments made by PG&E to the NRC in a letter of June 26, 1984 in response to an NRC letter of June 20, 1984.
The matters involve activities performed by onsite engineering
- groups, including training, procedure control, gA audits and findings, and implementation of tolerance clarification program.
We previously reported to the Comoission on this matter at the August 2, 1984 mee'ting (transcript pages 84 to 86).
The review was performed specifically with respect to the full power licensing effort for Unit 1.
The PG&E submittal of June 26, 1984 applies also in part to Unit 2.
The staff will evaluate this aspect.
By copy of this memorandum the Appeal Board and the parties to the Diablo Canyon proceeding are provided the same information.
