STOKES ON JANUARY 25, 1984 (BOARD NOTIFICATION NO.84-048)
In accordance with NRC procedures for Board Notifications the enclosed information is provided to the Commission.
The enclosure is a transcript of a meeting on January 25, 1984 by the NRC staff with Mr. C. Stokes related to allegations concerning small bore piping at the Diablo Canyon Nuclear Power Plant.
The transcript was previously provided in camera to the Commission, the Atomic Safety 'and Licensing Board (ASLB) an~te tomic Safety and Licensing Appeal Board (ASLAB) under Board Notification No.84-022, dated February 7, 1984.
After a discussion by the staff with Mr. Thomas Devine (GAP) certain parts in the transcript have been deleted by the NRC Region V Office to protect the confidentiality of sources and preclude compromising ongoing inspections.
Copies of the excised version of the transcript have been provided to the parties of the Diablo Canyon proceeding by letter of February 23, 1984.
The staff is continuing its review and evaluation of these allegations.
We will inform you of the results of our evaluation in a future SER Supplement.
