In accordance with present NRC procedures for Board Notifications, the following items are enclosed for information of the Commission:

Pacific Gas 8 Electric Company's letter dated Nay ll, 1983 2.
Preliminary Notification - PNO-V-83-22 dated Nag 11, 1983 The enclosures provide information pertaining to one weld in the Diablo Canyon, Unit 1 reactor coolant loop two cold leg between'he reactor coolant pump and the reactor vessel that may be less than the minimum wall thickness specified by the ASIIE Code.
Region V is currently examining the licensee's response to this incident.
We will promptly inform you of any significant findings on this matter.
