In accordance with present NRC procedures for Board Notifications, the following is enclosed for information of the Commission:
Third Interim Technical 'Report, "Diablo Canyon Unit 1 IDVP-TANKS", issued by R. L. Cloud Associates and transmitted to G.
Maneatis, et. al.
by let'ter dated July 16, 1982 The report presents the analytical results, recommendations and conclu-sions of the Independent Design Verification Program (IDVP) with respect to the initial tank sample. "It is based o'n the generic sample evaluation by R. L. Cloud Associates (RLCA) and was approved by Teledyne Engineering Services (TES), the IDVP Program Manager.
The submittal is in accordance with the TES Program Management Plan of March 29, 1982.
Additional reports will be submitted when specific tasks of th'e program have been completed.
A final technical report on the IDVP will be submitted by'G&E in accord-ance with Commission Order CLI'-81-30 of November 19, 1981.
The information in the enclosure is relevant to the safety issue on the design adequacy of Diablo Canyon, Unit 1.
This is the subject of Com-mission Order CLI-81-30 which is the basis for th'e IDVP.
The staff is evaluating the information presented in the enclosure as part of its 8208260362 820802 PDR ADOCK 05000275 P
