Robert Tedesco, Assistant Director for Licensing, NRR Frank J. ftiraglia, Chief, Licensing Branch 83, DL DIABLO CANYON, UNIT 1 MEEKLY STATUS The following suenarizes the significant activities associated with Diablo Canyon, Unit 1 for the period starting Friday, October 9 through Thursday, October 15, 1981.
On Friday, October 9
a meeting between NRC, its consultants, the applicant, and their consultants was held in Bethesda, Maryland to address in further detail the recently identified potential deficiency of the seismic design of certain piping and associated equipment in the Unit 1 containment annulus area.
On Wednesday, October 14, NRR/OIE went to the applicants corporate headquarters in San Francisco, California to conduct an audit review of the seismic piping systems and associated equipment.
%e meeting is currently scheduled to conclude on Friday, October 16, 1SGl.
