ACRS COMMENTS ON RESEARCH INTO CONTINUOUS CONTAINMENT LEAKAGE MONITORING In some of our recent discussions, the concept of continuous containment leakage monitoring has resurfaced. We believe there may be merit in this concept for reducing the risk of exposure to the public and plant operators in severe accident situations.
We recommend an investigation of continuous containment leakage monitor-ing to see if it can be helpful in risk reduction and if it is cost beneficial.
