ACRS ACTION ON PROPOSED REGULATORY GUIDE, TASK NO. EE-006-5, "QUALIFICATION OF SAFETY-RELATED LEAD STORAGE BATTERIES FOR NUCLEAR POWER PLANTS" During the 343rd meeting of the Advisory Committee on Reactor Safe-guards, November 17-18, 1988, we met with members of the NRC staff and discussed the subject regulatory guide together with the public comments and the staff's responses to them. The ACRS had previously commented on an earlier version of this guide in a letter to you dated August 11, 1987.

As a result of this discussion, we concur in the regulatory position of this guide.

Mr. C. J. Wylie did not participate in the Committee's deliberations regarding this matter.
