On April 7, 2016, the NRG issued Reference 1 to all nuclear power reactors, except those that have permanently ceased operations with all reactor fuel removed from onsite spent fuel pool storage and all holders of operating license for a non-power reactor who have fuel storage.

The purpose of this letter is to provide a response to Reference 1 for Entergy Nuclear Operations, Inc. Vermont Yankee Nuclear Power Station (VY). VY has been determined to be a Category 3 licensee in accordance with Reference 1. As a Category 3 licensee, VY received an approval from the NRG for a license amendment request in Reference 2 that includes a License Condition for the neutron-absorbing materials monitoring programs.

VY affirms that no changes have been made to the neutron-absorbing materials monitoring programs described in the referenced NRG approved amendment.
