Telephone Log On September 28, 2016, Christine Pineda of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission held a telephone conversation with Mr. Gino Bruni, an Environmental Protection Geologist with the Illinois Environmental Protection Agencys (IEPA) Bureau of Land, which is located in Des Plaines, Illinois. Mr. Brunis phone number is 847-294-4061. Ms. Pineda requested information about the generation and management of hazardous wastes at the Zion Nuclear Power Station (ZNPS). From records available to him during the call, Mr. Bruni was able to confirm that the ZNPS site is likely currently classified as a small quantity generator of hazardous waste and that hazardous wastes have been shipped from the site to a licensed facility in Chicago. Mr. Bruni also noted that the ZNPS site shipped PCB-containing paint wastes to another licensed facility in 2016 and corresponded with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency about this action.
