SUMMARY

OF PUBLIC MEETING On July 26, 2016, from 4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) conducted a public open-house at the Town of Scriba Municipal Building in Oswego, NY. The NRC conducted the open-house to discuss its assessment of the safety performance at James A. FitzPatrick Nuclear Power Plant (FitzPatrick) for 2015.

A notice of the open-house was issued on July 11, 2016, and was posted on the NRCs external (public) Web page. A revised notice was issued thereafter on July 15, 2016. These meeting notices can be found in the NRCs Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) with Accession No. ML16194A012 and ML16197A040 respectively. ADAMS is accessible from the NRC Web page at: http://www.nrc.gov/reading-rm/adams.html.

The NRC provided informational handouts and was available to discuss its assessment of the safety performance of Fitzpatrick for the period of January 1 through December 31, 2015, as documented in our letter dated March 2, 2016 (ADAMS Accession No. ML16060A114). The NRC informational handouts presented included background on the Reactor Oversight Process.

Additional information related to the NRC's Annual Assessment Process and the safety performance of FitzPatrick can be found on the NRC's web site at:

Members of the public and a member of the media attended the open-house and were offered the opportunity to question the NRC regarding Entergys performance and the role of the agency in ensuring safe plant operations.
