Ladies and Gentlemen:

On March 12,2012, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission issued Reference 1 to all power reactor licensees requesting information regarding the identification of enhancements that could provide a means to power equipment needed to communicate on-site and off-site during an extendeQ.Ioss of AC power event. Enclosure 5 of Reference 1 contained specific Requested Actions and Requested Information associated with Recommendation 9.3 for Emergency Preparedness (EP) programs.

In accordance with Reference 1, on May 9, 2012, Southern Nuclear Operating Company (SNC) submitted Reference 2, an alternative course of action for providing the requested information.

The alternative course of action included revised information due dates and the basis for those dates.

U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission NL-16-0142 Page2 On October 31, 2012, SNC identified the communications enhancements and an implementation schedule for FNP (Reference 3). On June 6, 2014, SNC notified the NRC of a schedule modification related to the commitment based on the implementation of Order EA-12-049 for FNP (Reference 4). This letter provides notification that the commitment identified in Reference 4 has been completed.

This letter contains no new NRC commitments. If you have any questions, please contact John Giddens at 205.992.7924.
