Site: SALEM Emergency Class: NON EMERGENCY "At approximately 0907 [EDT], 4/8/2016, one Atlantic Sturgeon was removed from the Salem Unit 2 Circulating Water System (CWS) Intake trash racks at the Salem Generating Station. The Sturgeon was deceased upon retrieval. A report was made by Environmental Licensing to the National Marine Fisheries at 0953 and the NJDEP Division of Fish & Wildlife at 0958, concerning the Atlantic sturgeon.

"Nuclear Environmental Affairs has made a determination that this event warrants a 4 hr report to the NRC under RAL 11.8.2.a."

The licensee informed the NRC Resident Inspector.

Notified R1DO (Rogge) and NRR (Endangered Species) via email.
