subparagraph (b )(1 ), Dominion Nuclear Connecticut Inc. (DNC) is notifying the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), of our intent to begin loading Millstone Power Station Unit 3 (MPS3) spent fuel into an approved storage cask under the general license at Millstone Power Station (MPS). Loading activities are scheduled to commence on or about September 12, 2016.
DNC will continue to use the AREVA Transnuclear NUHOMS Modular Storage System in accordance with Certificate of Compliance Number 1004, Amendment 13, issued by the NRC. The first use of Certificate of Compliance Number 1004 for loading spent fuel at MPS occurred on February 15, 2005, with the loading of Millstone Power Station Unit 2 (MPS2) spent fuel into the AREVA Transnuclear NUHOMS Modular Storage System. DNC first notified the NRC of the intent to store MPS2 spent fuel under this general license by letter dated October 14, 2004.
