PALISADES NUCLEAR PLANT - REVIEW OF REQUEST FOR INFORMATION EA-16-011
Dear Mr. Vitale:
This letter acknowledges receipt of the information you supplied in response to our request for information dated February 11, 2016 (ADAMS ML16042A260). We requested you to provide what actions you were taking to ensure your Safety Conscious Work Environment (SCWE) was not adversely affected after the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) discrimination rulings. OSHA found that there was reasonable cause to believe that Entergy Nuclear Operations had discriminated against former employees. We understand you are currently seeking review of this decision through the DOL's administrative hearing process.
Although the appeal is in progress at this time, in your response dated March 3, 2016 (ADAMS ML16063A165), you stated actions were completed to reinforce your SCWE, including face-to-face discussion with security personnel and briefings with personnel from the remaining site departments. Pending the final decision from DOL, the NRC has no additional concerns or questions.
In accordance with Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations Section 2.390 of the NRCs Rules of Practice, a copy of this letter, and the letters referenced above, will be available electronically for public inspection in the NRCs Public Document Room or from ADAMS.
A. Vitale If you have any questions concerning this meeting, please contact me at 630-829-9763.
Sincerely,
/RA/
